I need to upload a line of html into the root folder of my WordPress site to verify that I own it. Please help?

I want to upload audio files in my blog on wordpress so that people will be able to listen to them but not able to download them. When I upload a mp3 file, I get an error saying: Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.

So, what should I do?
