How do I get a post on my wordpress blog to not stay on the top?

On my wordpress blog, there is this one post that always stays at the top of my blog, no matter how many more posts I have posted.

I even checked if it was stickied, but it wasn’t. How do I stop this from being on the top?

Maybe the posts are queried or sorted according to category, tags or title or date.

you have that post as the featured post. Most likely you have a Featured Posts category. If you do then add another post to that category and it will switch spots. If you dont have that category, then edit the post that is stuck, and delete the custom field named Featured.

    Hope this helps,
